LVN / LPN – Medical Surgical (Ortho/Surgical Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on a 35-bed Ortho/Surgical unit supporting a 1:5–1:6 patient ratio
  • Assist with and support care for patients undergoing bariatric procedures, orthopedic surgeries, and general surgical procedures
  • Utilize facility EMR (MEDITECH) and equipment including computer on wheels, Hospira pumps, and iMobile phones
  • Float as needed to Med/Renal, Oncology, Med/Surg Tele, CVTS, and Telemetry units
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, RNs, PCTs, and unit clerks
  • Adhere to facility dress code, attendance policies, and weekend shift requirements (up to 4 weekend shifts per schedule)

Required Qualifications

  • Active Texas LVN / LPN license
  • BLS certification (required — candidates without this will not be considered)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Ability and willingness to float to designated units as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Bariatric Certification
  • Med/Surg Certification
  • Orthopedic Certification
  • ACLS certification
