Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a neurosurgery unit specializing in pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients
• Serve as a secondary care provider for general neurology and stroke patients
• Manage and monitor intermittently drained lumbar and surgical drains
• Administer and monitor Heparin drips; unit does not manage drips requiring titration (excluding Heparin), EVDs, arterial lines, fresh TPA administration, or trached/total laryngectomy patients
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float within service line scope as needed to meet facility staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (MO or compact; IL license must be in hand at time of submittal)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience
• ACLS certification required by compliance document deadline
• BCLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in neurosurgery, neurology, or stroke care settings
• Familiarity with pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patient populations
• Experience with surgical drain management
