Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool)

Contract | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Float Pool

Key Responsibilities

• Float between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments across multiple metro campuses as a dedicated float pool clinician — no home unit assigned
• Provide direct patient care in telemetry, cardiac, neuro stepdown, and medical/surgical settings with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform cardiac monitoring duties including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry unit monitoring
• Manage a diverse patient population including sepsis, stroke, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, ETOH, SI, wound care, and COVID patients
• Fulfill weekend requirements (8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday) and participate in holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Utilize facility technology including Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license covering both states) required at time of submission
• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with sheath removal (cardiovascular)
• Feeding tube care and management
• IV therapy skills including port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management
