Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room with nursing staff for surgical procedures in a timely and organized manner, correctly practicing the principles of asepsis
- Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures and assist the physician with correct instrumentation organized and available
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all equipment in the OR and Endoscopic Lab; clean and wrap instruments for sterilization
- Coordinate patient care with the RN Circulator, transport patients to and from the OR, and handle surgical specimens
- Prepare room and equipment for Endoscopy procedures; stock and replace CS items and prepare CS inventory sheets
- Timely document unusual occurrence reports and other departmental forms as required; perform CPR as needed
Required Qualifications
- Montana (MT) Surgical Technician certification required
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance in the OR setting
- Ability to follow verbal physician orders within the operating suite
- Proficiency in the use of applicable surgical instruments and equipment
- Must live more than 250 miles from the facility to be eligible if residing in-state
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an operating room or endoscopy setting
- Familiarity with central sterile processing and CS inventory management
- Experience working across a range of patient age groups
