Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Expected 36 hours/week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients including premature infants (as early as 22 weeks gestational age), surgical infants, and infants with hypoxic injury
- Perform and assist with special procedures including Therapeutic Hypothermia, Nitric Oxide therapy, UAC/UVC line care, Broviac care, Trachs, GTTs, and Ostomy care
- Operate specialized equipment such as Tecotherm, BCPAP, Ram NC, Servo Vents, HFOV, Baby Leo, Giraffe, Alaris IV pumps, and Med Fusion for feedings
- Document patient care using Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, and 4P systems
- Float as needed to Peds, PICU, or Nursery caring for infants up to and including 12 months of age
- Participate in self-scheduling per unit needs, including an expected weekend commitment of 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 ICN required
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending licensure considered for submittal)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Ventilator experience required
- Must be open to floating within or near the facility per job description
- Local candidates are welcome; a lower rate applies for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with high-acuity NICU procedures such as Therapeutic Hypothermia and Nitric Oxide therapy
- Familiarity with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Experience with HFOV and Servo ventilators in a neonatal setting
