School Social Worker

Primary Purpose: Providing IEP-based social work services to students, including planning, implementing, and evaluating therapy, evaluations, documentation, IEP compliance, and MTSS support, according to the NIA. Specifically, the social worker would collaborate with school staff, participate in IEP meetings, and contribute to the development of social-emotional and behavioral goals to support student success.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Social Work or beyond.
• Professional Educator License (PEL) thru Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) endorsed in School Support Personnel.
• Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

• Knowledge of social work principles, ethics, and best practices .
• Experience working with diverse populations, including students with disabilities .
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Create social emotional and behavior goals to support educational access and success.
• Designs activities and supports social emotional learning to enhance student engagement and improvement within the school setting.
• Utilize direct and consultative intervention that will improve academics and social emotional learning across the educational environment.
• Deliver high quality assessment and interventions including:
  • Assist with conflict resolution and anger management.
  • Develop appropriate social interaction skills.
  • Assist the child in understanding and accepting self and others.
  • Assist in Crisis intervention services per the district policy
  • Provide Social Emotional screenings per district policy
  • Social Emotional intervention (RTI or MTSS) services per district policy
  • Comprehensive social emotional evaluations
• All Social Work Services include performance evaluation, staff development, and staff supervision/support.
