Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care/Clinic/Outpatient

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in an outpatient ambulatory or clinic setting, following nursing standards and protocols.
• Assess patients’ needs, develop care plans, implement treatments, and evaluate patient responses.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver quality, efficient, and culturally sensitive care across all age groups.
• Administer medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and educate patients and their families about health conditions and treatments.
• Supervise and support unit staff, including secretaries and patient care technicians, in coordination with the Charge Nurse.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a nursing program from an NLN-approved institution.
• Valid Alaska Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficient in communication, medical terminology, and basic nursing skills.
• Ability to utilize the nursing process for patient care and documentation.
• Basic EKG skills and familiarity with medical equipment used in outpatient settings.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge of care management, care continuum, and patient education.
• Ability to interpret diagnostic tests and medications.
