Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures in the Operating Room.
• Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
• Perform instrument counts before and during procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare all supplies and instruments needed for surgical interventions in advance.
• Support patient care by preparing the surgical site, positioning, and monitoring during surgery.
• Handle and route specimens properly for laboratory analysis.
• Maintain current knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and intraoperative medications.
• Keep up with developments in the field through ongoing education and training.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in a large operating room setting.
• High school diploma or GED, with completion of a Surgical Technician training program or graduation from an accredited school.
• Certified Surgical Technician credential from NBSTSA or NCCT, or ten (10) years of relevant experience.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in orthopedics, ENT, and vascular surgery.
• Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical records systems (training available if needed).
