Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in the Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR) for open-heart and cardiothoracic procedures.
• Assist with procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, ECMO, Impellas, and pericardial windows.
• Ensure patient safety and monitor vital signs throughout perioperative care.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to maintain sterile technique and proper equipment setup.
• Document care provided accurately in the EMR system.
• Float to other ORs as needed when no open-heart cases are scheduled.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Texas or appropriate state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with CVOR, open-heart surgeries, or cardiothoracic procedures.
• Ability to work on a 7a-3p schedule with call coverage, including weekends and holidays.
• Dependability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in other service lines such as trauma, general surgery, gyn, urology, ortho, neuro, or plastics.
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR system.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
