Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to critically ill patients in a busy ICU setting.
• Monitor and titrate IV drips including vasopressors, sedation, and pain control medications.
• Manage patients with diagnoses such as respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wound care, and post-trauma.
• Perform PEG tube care and feedings, and care for patients with CVC, PICC, Midline, and tracheostomy.
• Respond to emergency situations for ventilated and sedated patients, collaborating with hospitalist and intensivist teams.
• Troubleshoot in-room telemetry monitors, ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and other RT equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license or active application in process.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with ventilated, sedated, and critically ill patients, including titration of drips such as Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, and others.
• Ability to read telemetry strips and manage complex patient care needs.
• Knowledge of ICUs including patient ratios (1:2-3) and critical care procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with PEG tube care, CVC/PICC line management, and ventilator troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with ICU telemetry systems and monitoring equipment.
• Ability to float to other units, such as Medical-Surgical units, as needed.
