Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care on the cardiac intensive or step-down unit, including management of cardiac drips, sheath removal, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valvular heart diseases, cardiomyopathy, vasculitis, and vascular conditions
• Assist with specialized procedures including post-cardiac cath, pacemaker placements, and thoracic surgeries
• Utilize unit systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for medication administration and documentation
• Adhere to strict protocols regarding patient safety and unit policies, including no RTO after booking and on-site work only

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience on a cardiac floor (or more than 24 months if previously served as a traveler)
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, sheaths, external airway management (CPAP/BIPAP), and non-invasive oxygen delivery methods
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac drips without titration
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Skills / Certifications

• Arterial line management and wound care experience a plus
• Charge nurse experience preferred

Candidates must be willing to float within the unit as needed, work during storm or disaster events, and comply with unit policies. RTO is not permitted after booking; additional RTO may lead to cancellation.
