Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for oncology patients, including those with lymphoma, leukemia, GYN/Onc, and radiation oncology patients.
• Administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy medications, monitoring for side effects and ensuring proper handling precautions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to manage patient treatments, including titrating certain drips only with physician orders.
• Maintain patient safety through medication administration, side effect monitoring, and use of PPE for chemotherapy handling.
• Use electronic medical records system (Epic Beacon) for documentation and coordinate with respiratory therapy regarding ventilator and CPAP/BiPAP equipment.
• Support unit operations, including adherence to staffing ratios and participating in unit float rotations as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license or proof of application process.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certification.
• Experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens.
• Knowledge of PPE handling and side effect management for chemotherapy patients.
• Ability to work night shifts and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Last four digits of SSN and middle initial for onboarding purposes.
• Understanding of facility drug-free policy and negative drug screen requirement.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with hematology/oncology patient care, including managing complex medication protocols.
• Familiarity with RT equipment such as Bipap and Cpap, with troubleshooting responsibilities limited to patient home regimens.
• Experience working with telemonitoring systems (Philips monitors).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling and self-scheduling options.
