Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (0700-1900 or 1900-0700), rotation includes every other weekend and holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for oncology patients, including those receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
• Administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy medications, monitoring for side effects and managing infusion protocols.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to assess patient needs, update care plans, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Utilize electronic medical records (Epic Beacon) for documentation and communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Manage and troubleshoot respiratory equipment like CPAP and Bipap machines as needed.
• Support unit operations, including participation in orientation, floating to other departments, and adhering to staffing policies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid active Illinois RN license or confirmation of application in process.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certification.
• Experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy, including handling precautions and monitoring.
• Ability to follow physician orders for medication adjustments.
• Knowledge of PPE protocols and side effect monitoring for oncology treatments.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in oncology or hematology units, specifically with lymphoma, leukemia, or radiation oncology patients.
• Familiarity with high-flow oxygen therapy and ventilator equipment (Cpap/Bipap).
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment with varied patient needs.
