Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to understand children’s cognitive, social/emotional, and environmental factors affecting learning.
- Develop individualized recommendations based on evaluations, involving collaboration with parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Provide counseling services, both group and individual, addressing issues such as behavioral challenges, social skills, and adjustment concerns.
- Manage programs efficiently, including documentation, reporting, and follow-up interventions.
- Serve as a resource for families and staff regarding psychological and behavioral issues.
- Support crisis situations by providing immediate assistance and coping strategies for students and staff during emergencies or traumatic events.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology or a related field.
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) School Psychologist Certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience working in a school setting with diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, 504 plans, and behavioral intervention strategies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and community agencies.
- Skills in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
