Key Responsibilities
- Assist orthopedic surgeons and surgical team members throughout orthopedic procedures by preparing, handling, and caring for surgical instruments and supplies.
- Anticipate the needs for prosthetics, supplies, and equipment, ensuring availability and proper setup.
- Maintain sterile technique and adhere to aseptic practices to promote patient safety.
- Provide technical support during surgeries, including tissue manipulation, hemostasis, and wound closure.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and team meetings to enhance surgical outcomes and efficiency.
- Assist in patient positioning, securing drains, and applying dressings, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) designation.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Surgical Technician, with trauma experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of orthopedic surgical procedures, instruments, and supplies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience assisting with prosthetic devices and orthopedic surgeries.
- Knowledge of sterilization procedures and surgical instrumentation.
- Demonstrated initiative in surgical support and continuous learning.
