Key Responsibilities

• Assist orthopedic surgeons and surgical team members throughout orthopedic procedures by preparing, handling, and caring for surgical instruments and supplies.
• Anticipate the needs for prosthetics, supplies, and equipment, ensuring availability and proper setup.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to aseptic practices to promote patient safety.
• Provide technical support during surgeries, including tissue manipulation, hemostasis, and wound closure.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and team meetings to enhance surgical outcomes and efficiency.
• Assist in patient positioning, securing drains, and applying dressings, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) designation.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of three years’ experience as a Surgical Technician, with trauma experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of orthopedic surgical procedures, instruments, and supplies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience assisting with prosthetic devices and orthopedic surgeries.
• Knowledge of sterilization procedures and surgical instrumentation.
• Demonstrated initiative in surgical support and continuous learning.
