Paraprofessional Teacher

Job Title

• Paraprofessional (Special Education)

• Kansas City, MO

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Contract, 5 days per week, 8 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities

• Assist special education teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
• Provide one-on-one and small group instructional support to students, reinforcing concepts and skills
• Support students with behavioral and emotional needs using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques
• Collaborate with the special education team to develop and implement behavioral intervention strategies
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies during all interactions with students and staff

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Paraprofessional certification (required)
• Experience working with students with disabilities or in a school setting (preferred)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Associate’s degree or completion of 60 college credit hours (preferred)
• Prior experience in special education settings or as a teacher or administrator (preferred)
