Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week, travel assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to laboring patients in a busy labor and delivery unit
- Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs using electronic fetal monitoring equipment
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Support antepartum testing and care, including administering medications such as Pitocin and magnesium sulfate
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia, neonatal, and hospitalist services
- Adhere to unit policies and protocols to maintain high standards of care
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas or appropriate state licensure
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification
- Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and labor/delivery procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Circulation experience for cesarean sections
- Proficiency in placing FSE and IUPC
- Experience with hospital electronic medical record systems (e.g., Meditech or Centricity)
- Previous travel RN experience in labor and delivery units
