Key Responsibilities

• Support the special education team in achieving students’ IEP goals.
• Evaluate students’ gross motor abilities within the school environment.
• Develop and implement therapy plans tailored to individual student needs.
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with educators and families.
• Provide consultative and direct therapy services, including equipment recommendations.
• Instruct school staff and families on activities and techniques to support student progress.
• Train staff on safety procedures, lifting, positioning, and equipment use.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of therapy services.
• Support students during daily activities and promote functional independence.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• Licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist in Georgia.
• Ability to evaluate students in a school setting.
• Knowledge of child development and the impact of injury or disease.
• Strong communication skills (oral, written, interpersonal).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a school or pediatric setting.
• Familiarity with IEP processes and collaboration with educational staff.
