Registered Nurse Oncology

Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Oncology

• Springfield, IL

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, Night shifts, 3 shifts per week (12 hours each)

Key Responsibilities
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients receiving chemotherapy treatments
• Handle body fluids post-chemotherapy, manage cytotoxic spills, and ensure proper disposal
• Manage IV therapy including port access, central lines, PICC lines, and starting IVs
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and respond accordingly
• Collaborate within scope of practice and float within hospital or to affiliate facilities as needed

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 year of specialized nursing experience in oncology on a comparable unit
• Active IL nursing license at the time of application or in the process of obtaining
• Certification in chemotherapy administration and IV therapy skills required (AHA or Red Cross accredited only)
• Ability to work three night shifts per week, including two out of three major holidays
• Must be able to complete all compliance requirements, including background checks, drug screens, and module training within specified timelines

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Chemo certification (preferred but not mandatory)
• Oncology Certification (OCN) or ONS/ONCC certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner charting system and managing central lines and infusions
