Special Education Teacher

Job Title

• Special Education Teacher--2025/2026 SY (Greater Western Mass)

• Northampton, MA

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, school year (2025/2026), Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students with severe disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate documentation
• Support inclusive classroom strategies and promote student engagement
• Ensure compliance with state licensing and certification requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts DESE License Certification in Severe Disabilities or ASD Endorsement
• Acceptable Massachusetts CORI and SAFIS Fingerprint Background Checks prior to start
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Citizens, residents, or individuals with valid work visas as per employment eligibility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with students with severe disabilities or ASD
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
