- Special Education Teacher--2025/2026 SY (Greater Western Mass)
Location
- Northampton, MA
Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, school year (2025/2026), Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with severe disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate documentation
- Support inclusive classroom strategies and promote student engagement
- Ensure compliance with state licensing and certification requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts DESE License Certification in Severe Disabilities or ASD Endorsement
- Acceptable Massachusetts CORI and SAFIS Fingerprint Background Checks prior to start
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Citizens, residents, or individuals with valid work visas as per employment eligibility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with students with severe disabilities or ASD
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
