Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patients, including preterm and surgical infants.
• Administer and monitor ventilator support, therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide, and other advanced procedures.
• Manage patient care for infants up to 12 months, including critical and surgical cases.
• Collaborate with healthcare team using systems like EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient progress and care using electronic health records and adhere to hospital protocols.
• Float within the hospital or nearby facilities as needed, based on skill set and census.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in a level 3 or 4 NICU.
• Valid NC or Compact RN license, required at start.
• BLS and NRP certifications.
• Ventilator experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with advanced neonatal procedures such as Giraffe, GTube, Broviac, Trachs, and UAC/UVC.
• Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays.
• Experience with electronic charting systems, preferably Epic.

Shift Details

• Night shifts, 12 hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, working 3 shifts per week.

Additional Notes

• RTO (Request for Time Off): max 7 days, with no RTO during the first week or during major holidays unless approved.
• No call requirements.
• Mandatory orientation, including 24 hours of unit-specific training prior to start.
• Candidates must adhere to travel compliance procedures, including testing within 48 hours of signing.
• Floating responsibilities included; candidates must be comfortable floating within the hospital or nearby facilities.
• References from recent managers/supervisors preferred at the time of submission.
