• Full-time, 8-hour evening shifts, 5 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment for various procedures across multiple specialties, including general, ENT, gynecology, neurosurgery, oral, orthopedic, plastic, trauma, and urology.
• Assist surgical teams during procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
• Manage instrumentation, supplies, and specimens according to sterile procedures.
• Support department staff by floating within scope of practice as needed to meet facility demands.
• Participate in emergency management and trauma response, maintaining readiness for high-acuity situations.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, including fingerprinting, badge procedures, and documentation requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of surgical technologist experience in a hospital setting.
• Valid IL surgical technologist license or current credentials in process of obtaining license.
• BLS certification required; CST certification preferred.
• Experience with a variety of surgical cases, including ENT, general, gynecologic, neurosurgical, orthopedic, plastic, trauma, and urology procedures.
• Ability to work evening shifts and weekends as scheduled.
• Must be able to complete compliance requirements, including fingerprinting and background checks, prior to start date.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in a Level I trauma center or teaching hospital.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Flexibility to float within hospital departments and across affiliate hospitals.
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and safety protocols.
