- Full-time, night shifts, 4x12-hour shifts per week, on-site
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in a busy acute care hospital
- Administer chemotherapy and IV therapies per prescribed protocols
- Monitor patient responses, recognize abnormal lab values, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
- Manage and dispose of cytotoxic spills safely and according to guidelines
- Assist with blood and blood product administration, port care, and central line management
- Support patient education regarding treatment plans and lab results
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or in the application process)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience
- Ability to work every other weekend
- Must have or be willing to obtain chemotherapy certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Chemotherapy certification (preferred)
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or ONS/ONCC certification (preferred)
- Experience with chemotherapy administration, IV therapy, and port management
- Flexibility to float within scope as needed
