Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients, including post-procedure care and stable cardiac patients.
• Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, including cardiac drips, and support patient recovery.
• Titrate medications such as Cardizem and Dopamine, and manage patient assessments, ventilator support, and telemetry.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure patient safety, timely interventions, and documentation in electronic health records.
• Float within the hospital as needed to support unit coverage and patient needs.
• Follow unit protocols for patient care, emergency procedures, and equipment use.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina or eligible via Compact licensing.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent cardiac or stepdown nursing experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
• Experience with telemetry, IV starts, and cardiac patient monitoring.
• Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience managing cardiac drips and post-cardiac procedures.
• Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems.
• Comfortable with high patient turnover and working in a dynamic environment.
• Experience on COVID-positive units and handling high-flow oxygen therapy is a plus.
