• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a busy cardiac stepdown unit, managing a patient load of up to 6 patients per shift.
• Monitor cardiac patients with telemetry, IV starts, and varied cardiac drips, including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and perform post-procedure patient care for pacemaker implantations, cardiac catheterizations, and other interventions.
• Respond to emergencies such as unstable angina, post-CVA or TIA, heart failure, and dysrhythmias, utilizing appropriate equipment like telemetry, pulse oximetry, high-flow oxygen, and Bipap as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes, documentation, and adherence to protocols.
• Float within the hospital as required, assisting with admissions and discharges, and working in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac or telemetry unit.
• Current RN license in North Carolina or appropriate compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications.
• Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and post-procedure patient management.
• Ability to respond to emergent situations and handle a high patient acuity environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• First-time traveler experience accepted.
• Comfortable working with COVID-positive patients and advanced respiratory equipment such as opti-flow and BIPAP.
• Previous experience managing multiple drips and titrations in a high-volume setting.
