- Full-time, Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized dialysis care to patients with end-stage renal disease, chronic kidney disease, or acute kidney injury.
- Administer acute hemodialysis treatments using Fresenius equipment and peritoneal dialysis procedures with Baxter equipment.
- Monitor patient vitals, manage dialysis equipment, and ensure safety procedures are followed during treatment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document treatment details accurately in electronic health records and communicate effectively with team members.
- Float within hospital units and affiliate hospitals as needed, based on skill set and census.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state, in hand at start date.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute dialysis experience, including recent acute hemodialysis with Fresenius and PD with Baxter equipment.
- Experience with hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis procedures.
- BLS certification.
- Competence with cycler, CAPD, obtaining PD fluid samples, and hemodialysis treatments.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification.
- Certification as a Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) or Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN).
- Experience managing complex dialysis patients and operating Fresenius T machines and portable reverse osmosis systems.
