• Registered Nurse - ICU
Location
• San Marcos, TX
Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, travel, night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 13-week assignment
Key Responsibilities
• Provide independent, competent nursing care to critically ill patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Manage patients with complex conditions such as DKA, STEMIs, strokes, ARDS, MODS, and various organ failures, utilizing clinical judgment and specialized skills.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers, addressing psychological, emotional, and social needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Valid RN license in Texas or compact state.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• NIHSS certification (preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year ICU experience in a critical care setting.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records, Pyxis, and scheduling tools.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Extensive ICU clinical experience with managing complex critically ill patients.
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and advocacy skills.
• Familiarity with system thinking, clinical inquiry, and diversity responsiveness.
