Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type:
Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum patients within the labor and delivery unit.
• Monitor fetal heart rates using external and internal fetal monitoring techniques; recognize and respond to abnormal patterns.
• Assist with high-risk delivery procedures, including cesarean sections, forceps, and vacuum deliveries.
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies following clinical protocols.
• Conduct sterile speculum exams, triage obstetrical patients, and support maternal and neonatal stabilization and resuscitation.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in good standing.
• BLS, FHM, and NRPS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery (L&D) experience within the past 12 months.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a high-volume labor and delivery facility.
• Ability to work night shifts and adhere to a variable schedule, including weekends and on-call shifts.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit experience.
• Familiarity with fetal monitoring systems such as Phillips Avalon.
• Experience with complex obstetrical cases, including preeclampsia, diabetes management, and multiple gestations.
• Proficiency in sterile procedures, fetal assessment technologies, and emergency response protocols.
