Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a 16-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit.
- Monitor and manage patients using advanced equipment such as Phillips telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps.
- Perform critical procedures including central line insertions, Swan-Ganz catheter placements, intubations, and device management (e.g., ECMO, LVADS).
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, surgeons, and allied health staff to deliver continuous patient care.
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the Meditech system.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety protocols, and certification requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Tennessee or applicable state licensing.
- Strong critical care experience, including at least 2 years in CVICU or similar high-acuity units.
- Certification in BLS and ACLS.
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, PA catheters, and post-op cardiac device care.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT procedures.
- Familiarity with ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS management.
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills.
