Schedule / Job Type

• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery patients in a Level II nursery setting.
• Monitor fetal well-being using Obix EFM systems and Phillips monitors.
• Collaborate with OB/Neonatologist and healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Assist with staffing in all LDRP areas and support unit operations as needed.
• Follow AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios: 1:1 in labor and 1:3 for couplets.
• Maintain necessary certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and NRP.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license or confirmed application process.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Skilled in labor and delivery nursing with experience in LDRP and nursery care.
• Ability to troubleshoot RT equipment including Cpap with assistance.
• Understanding of fetal monitoring systems and neonatal care.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, including OSF’s drug-free campus requirement.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with all areas of labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery.
• Comfortable working with OB techs, unit secretaries, and other nursing team members.
• Experience working in a fast-paced maternity unit with high delivery volume.
• Ability to float hospital-wide as needed.
