- Nights, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery patients in a Level II nursery setting.
- Monitor fetal well-being using Obix EFM systems and Phillips monitors.
- Collaborate with OB/Neonatologist and healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Assist with staffing in all LDRP areas and support unit operations as needed.
- Follow AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios: 1:1 in labor and 1:3 for couplets.
- Maintain necessary certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license or confirmed application process.
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
- Skilled in labor and delivery nursing with experience in LDRP and nursery care.
- Ability to troubleshoot RT equipment including Cpap with assistance.
- Understanding of fetal monitoring systems and neonatal care.
- Knowledge of hospital policies, including OSF’s drug-free campus requirement.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with all areas of labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery.
- Comfortable working with OB techs, unit secretaries, and other nursing team members.
- Experience working in a fast-paced maternity unit with high delivery volume.
- Ability to float hospital-wide as needed.
