Schedule / Job Type
- Travel, 13-week assignment, days shift, weekdays only, no on-call, occasional weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of social situations and needs, developing appropriate plans
- Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds for discharge planning
- Provide rotational coverage across various units, including Emergency Room and Mother/Baby
- Utilize electronic medical records systems such as EMR-EPIC and MIDAS (experience required)
- Maintain a ratio of 1:8 with patients, ensuring quality social work support
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work or equivalent
- Active State licensure as a Social Worker in Alaska (LMSW) required
- Experience with EMR-EPIC and MIDAS systems
- Ability to work independently, with strong consultation skills and creativity
- Must have secured housing and transportation prior to assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working in unique Alaskan environments and addressing local community issues
- Flexibility to float and cover all units as needed
- Strong assessment and discharge planning skills
