• Full-time, 4x10-hour evening shifts (1:00 PM – 10:00 PM), on-site

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a Level I trauma center, supporting all service lines except cardiovascular.
• Assist with a variety of surgical procedures including general surgery, trauma, orthopedics, plastics, urology, and transplant cases.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, maintain patient safety, and support surgical team needs.
• Float within the scope of practice to meet facility requirements, managing multiple cases and emergency situations.
• Maintain documentation accurately in Cerner electronic charting system.
• Participate in on-call rotations (approximately once per week), responding to emergency surgical needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of recent OR experience, preferably in a Level I trauma center.
• Current Illinois RN license (must be in hand or actively in application process).
• Active BLS certification; CNOR certification preferred.
• Experience with Bariatric, General, Neurology, Orthopedic, Plastic, Transplant, Urology, Trauma, and Emergency procedures.
• Proficiency with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables.
• Ability to work with complex case types including laparoscopic, open surgeries, and trauma.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cerner electronic health record experience.
• Experience with trauma and level I trauma center operations.
• Knowledge of infection control, blood product management, and radiation safety.
