Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular and open-heart procedures in a hospital setting.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during surgical interventions.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including BLS certification and EPIC electronic medical record documentation.
• Work flexible shifts, including weekday calls and weekend call coverage, as required to meet unit needs.
• Travel requirements include working 2 out of 4 designated holidays with a travel rate of $120 per day.
• Potential to float to other OR suites, such as ortho, neuro, ENT, etc., based on staffing needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license and current BLS certification.
• At least 2 years of recent OR RN experience, specifically in cardiovascular/open-heart surgery.
• Prior travel nursing experience in a large (500+ beds), academic, or teaching hospital setting.
• EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (non-negotiable).
• CNOR certification preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with complex cardiovascular procedures and open-heart surgeries.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and floating to different surgical units as needed.
• Strong competency in perioperative nursing best practices.
