Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) setting within a Level I Trauma Center.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions following hospital protocols.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage complex medical equipment including chest tubes, ventilators, and IV lines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Promote patient safety by adhering to infection control and safety precautions.
• Float as needed within scope to support other units or facilities.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois registered nurse license.
• Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience in a comparable setting.
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line management.
• Proficiency in managing respiratory devices and neurological cases such as stroke patients.
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, including every other weekend, with availability for holiday coverage.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a teaching or community hospital.
• Previous charge nurse experience.
• Strong knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care.
• Experience with Cerner charting system.

• Floating across units/hospitals is required for all staff.
