• Days, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and scrub in on surgical procedures under professional nurse supervision, ensuring proper sterile techniques for a variety of advanced and complex surgeries.
• Anticipate surgeon’s preferences for materials and instruments, responding proactively to meet procedural needs.
• Set up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, and medications required for surgical cases.
• Disassemble, reassemble, and prepare instruments for sterilization following proper procedures.
• Monitor and ensure the sterility of supplies and instruments, contributing to quality patient care.
• Inventory supplies, monitor usage, and place orders as necessary to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Develop and implement educational programs, in-service training, and learning aids for the department.
• Provide input on policy, procedural, and patient care standard updates.
• Serve as a backup surgical technician for emergency cases as needed.
• Participate in departmental committees and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program recognized by the appropriate accrediting agency.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Current BLS certification.
• Must have or obtain flu vaccination prior to start.
• Certifications must be current at the time of submission.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• At least 1 year of surgical technology experience.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, surgical instrumentation, suturing, and wound care.
• Strong sterile technique and patient positioning skills.
• Ability to handle intraoperative requests efficiently.
