• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, up to 32 weeks assignment, with 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care in a Med-Surg with Telemetry unit at a 122-bed acute care facility
• Insert NG tubes, peripheral IVs, and interpret telemetry strips at the bedside
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver seamless patient care and respond actively to telemetry findings
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately within EPIC electronic medical record system
• Support patients with diagnoses including post-surgical care, respiratory issues, cardiac monitoring, and general adult medical conditions
• Work effectively with LPNs, CNAs, and other healthcare staff to ensure the highest quality of care

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS required prior to start)
• At least 5 years of Med-Surg with Telemetry experience OR 3 years of Telemetry experience
• Prior travel nursing experience is required, including at least 2 travel assignments at facilities with 300+ beds or previous experience within the same health system
• Valid EPIC electronic medical record system experience within the past 2 years
• Must be fully vaccinated and able to work 12-hour night shifts including every other weekend
• Reliable transportation with all-season or snow tires during winter months

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certification in peripheral IV placement is a plus
• Experience working in a similar acute Med-Surg telemetry environment in a Level 3 Trauma Facility
• Ability to float occasionally to similar units with limited frequency
• Strong teamwork skills and customer-focused care approach

• No block scheduling; shifts are scheduled via an online system with pre-scheduled rotations
• Orientation includes 1-2 precepted shifts plus additional time with educators before patient contact
• On-site parking available; must have reliable transportation, as public transit is not accessible
• All work history must be thoroughly documented, including facility details and bed counts
• This assignment requires work in adult med-surg patients with a focus on telemetry, including active interpretation and response to cardiac rhythms
