Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit, including handling ED HOLD patients and working in the ECC/ER as needed.
• Monitor and manage IV pumps, bladder scanners, and other medical equipment, ensuring safe patient care.
• Assist with documentation using Epic EMR system, adhering to hospital protocols and procedures.
• Participate in bi-weekly orientations and meet unit-specific patient care ratios and shift requirements.
• Work collaboratively with nursing staff, CNA/PCT, and unit clerks to maintain efficient patient flow and care delivery.
• Support the unit by working every other weekend and adjusting schedules to meet patient care needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid NY nursing license or proof of pending application (licensing process takes 6-8 weeks).
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications such as CMSRN preferred.
• Epic EMR experience from within the past 2 years is mandatory.
• NIHSS certification will be required prior to start date.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a trauma level 2 facility.
• Prior travel nursing experience or familiarity with working in diverse hospital environments.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to unit needs.
