Key Responsibilities

  • Provides outpatient physical therapy evaluations and treatments to patients of all ages, focusing on improving functional abilities.
  • Develops and implements individualized care plans, monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatments as needed.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care, including recommending necessary medical equipment and discharge planning.
  • Documents all patient encounters, treatments, diagnoses, and recommendations accurately to ensure continuity of care and proper reimbursement.
  • Educates patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, activity modifications, and use of assistive devices to promote independence and safety.
  • Assists in clinical operations, patient education, staff training, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program OR Baccalaureate degree plus two years of proven work and continuing education in physical therapy.
  • Active Physical Therapist license in Alaska.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Knowledge of musculoskeletal physiology, evaluation techniques, and treatment modalities.
  • Experience with adaptive devices, orthoses, and durable medical equipment fitting.
  • Strong communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Proficiency with healthcare IT systems and documentation tools.
