Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown
Location: Baltimore, MD
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shift (3x12-hour shifts per week)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care to patients on a 48-bed cardiac telemetry stepdown unit, primarily receiving patients from the ED, cath lab, and other inpatient units.
- Monitor and administer a variety of drips including amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, nitro, lasix, and insulin, with experience in post-cardiac catheterization care.
- Conduct timely patient discharges, perform hourly rounding, and complete bedside shift reports for all patients.
- Collaborate with team members, including PCAs (CNAs) and LPNs, in a fast-paced environment with quick patient turnover.
- Float within the facility and potentially to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed, maintaining flexibility in assignments.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including utilization of required certifications and compliance training.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU, Telemetry, or Stepdown experience.
- Current certifications: ACLS and BLS.
- Ability to care for patients on drips such as amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, nitro, lasix, and insulin.
- Experience with post-cardiac cath patient care.
- References verifying recent relevant experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience working in a fast-paced cardiac telemetry or stepdown unit.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a float environment within different hospital units.
