Key Responsibilities

• Independently plan and implement routine nursing care in predictable situations, following standards and knowledge obtained during education and preceptorship.
• Assume leadership responsibilities with minimal supervision, working effectively as part of a team.
• Utilize accurate, clear, and concise communication skills, both oral and written, to analyze and communicate nursing findings.
• Operate computerized charting systems and various automated office equipment, demonstrating basic computer literacy and adaptability to new software.
• Provide care for a 61-bed unit, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios, including day and night shifts with rotating weekends.
• Participate in organization-wide orientation and training programs to ensure compliance and skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, with no on-call responsibilities.
• Good computer literacy skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records and office equipment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a comparable patient care setting, with advancement opportunities to RN II and RN III levels.
• Experience working in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities (SNF).
• Ability to establish proficiency in multiple units within the facility within the first year of employment.
