Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, 12-hour day shifts, Sunday through Saturday, 7am - 7pm. Flexibility required to work other shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) rooms, supporting mothers and newborns.
• Manage an average of 40 deliveries per month, including approximately 6 C-sections.
• Cover as charge nurse when needed, after completing charge nurse training.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Float to other qualified departments as needed, including assisting with patient load or task-oriented duties like answering call lights and phones.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• AWHONN Advanced FHM certification required; RNC-OB or RNC-EFM may be substituted.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Previous experience serving as a charge nurse.
• Ability to adapt to float requirements across departments.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced obstetric setting.
