Job Title

• Registered Nurse - CVICU

• Travel, 13-week contract, nights shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized critical care for cardiac patients in the CVICU.
• Monitor hemodynamic parameters, including swan-ganz and arterial lines.
• Manage ventilators and other cardiac support devices.
• Follow unit protocols for post-cardiac surgery and support device patients.
• Document patient care using Meditech system accurately.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Texas RN license (no temporary licenses accepted).
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, specifically in CVICU.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification.
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management.
• NIH certification required.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Exposure to IABP, CRRT, or ECMO procedures.
• Experience with Meditech charting and order entry.
• Additional certifications related to advanced cardiac support.

Additional Details

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Shift frequency: 3 nights per week.
• Building: Main building, CVICU unit.
• Floating policy applies; all travelers are required to float as per hospital policy.
• Dress code: Navy scrubs with navy or white scrub jacket; professional appearance required.
• Body art and piercings must adhere to dress code policies.
