• Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit with a focus on high-acuity patients.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage ventilated patients, and initiate IV starts.
• Administer and manage various medications, including drips such as Dopamine, Cardizem, and Heparin.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team including respiratory therapists and charge nurses to coordinate care.
• Follow established protocols for patient safety, documentation, and acute care procedures.
• Utilize hospital systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for order entry and medication dispensing.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license valid in North Carolina or a compact state (pending OK for submission, must be in hand at start).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant ICU/PCU/Stepdown experience.
• Proficient in IV start, telemetry interpretation, ventilator management, and dysrhythmia management.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification is a plus.
• Experience caring for COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, and respiratory distress patients.
• Familiarity with hospital systems such as Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication.

Additional Notes

• No RTO (leave requests) allowed during the first week of assignment.
• RTO of up to 7 days can be auto-approved if it doesn't fall on a holiday.
• Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Floating to similar units and affiliate hospitals may be required.
• Candidates should be comfortable with high patient ratios and ventilator management.
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts, with optional 13-week assignments.
