Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Night Shift

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Progressive Care Unit with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 on night shifts
- Manage and monitor cardiac drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, and patients requiring bipap, high-flow O2, and vapotherm therapy
- Perform and assist with unit procedures including peritoneal dialysis, central line dressing changes, wound vac troubleshooting, and NG/Dobhoff tube insertions
- Conduct every-two-hour patient rounding on nights and maintain accurate communication board documentation
- Interpret EKG rhythms and provide care for stroke and post-cardiac catheterization patients
- Float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed per staffing policy; work every other weekend as required by contract
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or comparable clinical experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and EKG rhythm interpretation ability
- Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, and peripheral IV insertion
- Experience with bipap, high-flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Peritoneal dialysis experience
- Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tube management
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic documentation system
- Prior experience with thoracentesis, paracentesis, or chest tube insertion assistance
