Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a PCU / IMC / Med-Surg setting with an average census of 8 patients across a 12-bed unit with 4 additional ICU rooms
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Heparin, Levo, Cardizem, Dobutamine, and other pressors as indicated by patient acuity and care setting
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently, as remote tele monitoring support is provided but RNs are responsible for strip interpretation
• Participate in team nursing model alongside LPN staff, managing a combined patient load as assigned
• May be asked to step into a Charge Nurse role; float to other areas such as the ED for tasking or to hold patients as needed
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and holiday coverage for 2 out of every 3 holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience (Med-Tele experience alone is not sufficient) or prior ICU experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records system
• Ability to titrate drips and manage higher-acuity patients including those with diagnoses such as pneumonia, post-operative care (knees, hips), and fall-related injuries

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers will be considered
• Willingness to float to the ED for tasking or to accept hold patients, reducing likelihood of low-census standby
• Flexibility with scheduling to help fill gaps in permanent staffing; block scheduling considered but not guaranteed
