Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Nights (18:45–07:15) | 36 Hours per Week | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to a complex neurological and neurosurgical patient population including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, SAH, SDH, craniotomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, carotid procedures, seizures, and myasthenia gravis
• Manage and monitor external ventricular drains (EVD), lumbar drains, Camino ICP monitoring, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun equipment
• Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, continuous IV sedation, blood product administration, and central line care
• Maintain care of ventilated patients and apply appropriate isolation precautions and PPE
• Document and communicate using EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
• Float within or near the facility as needed and work every other weekend per unit requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required — general ICU experience alone does not meet this requirement
• Strong neuro critical care background with demonstrated experience in stroke patient management (ischemic and hemorrhagic)
• Active ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with arterial line management
• Familiarity with specialized neuro monitoring equipment including LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
