Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Respiratory (Nights)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical Respiratory unit specializing in acute and chronic respiratory conditions, maintaining a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Care for patients with respiratory diagnoses including pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD, and other lung diseases, as well as medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical presentations
- Participate in daily interdisciplinary team rounds to support coordinated patient care
- Provide care within an 8-bed respiratory step-down unit as needed, maintaining a 1:4 nursing ratio
- Float to other units and facilities as required
- Work every other weekend and holidays as required
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
- Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
- Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry specialty
- Proficiency or ability to work with Meditech EMR
- Willingness to float to other units and hospital facilities as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience in a similar acute care setting
- Experience caring for respiratory step-down or intermediate care patients
