Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours per Week | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute care nursing to trauma, surgical, orthopedic, and urology patient populations on a dedicated trauma surgical unit
- Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering individualized, patient-centered care
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team including family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists
- Care for patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, testing, and observation
- Float to other units and facilities as needed based on staffing requirements
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
- Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
- Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience working under the highest level of professional license; 2 years preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with trauma, orthopedic, or urology patient populations
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Comfort working in a float capacity across multiple units or facilities
