Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Trauma (Nights)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours per Week | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute care nursing to trauma, surgical, orthopedic, and urology patient populations on a dedicated trauma surgical unit
• Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering individualized, patient-centered care
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team including family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists
• Care for patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, testing, and observation
• Float to other units and facilities as needed based on staffing requirements
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
• Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience working under the highest level of professional license; 2 years preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with trauma, orthopedic, or urology patient populations
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• Comfort working in a float capacity across multiple units or facilities
