Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | Days | Onsite | 8-hour shifts, 36–40 hours per week, start times between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM | No weekends, no holidays, no on-call
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during GI and endoscopy procedures in a fast-paced procedural environment handling 30–60 cases per day
- Provide moderate sedation and monitor patients throughout admission, procedure, and recovery phases
- Perform pre-procedure and post-procedure care including PACU-level recovery support
- Operate and assist with Olympus scopes and a variety of endoscopy supplies from commonly known manufacturers
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation in accordance with facility protocols
- May be required to float to additional regional locations as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of GI Lab / Endoscopy experience including PACU, admission, and recovery
- Current CPR and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
- Ability to pass an EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to starting
- Minimum Med/Surg Telemetry background; GI and pre-op/post-op experience strongly preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Background as a procedural nurse in a high-volume endoscopy or GI lab setting
- Experience with moderate sedation administration and monitoring
- Familiarity with Olympus scopes and standard endoscopy equipment and supplies
