Registered Nurse – Dialysis (Nights)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform dialysis treatments for patients, including hemodialysis, bedside dialysis, and peritoneal dialysis.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 (RN to patient) or 1:3 (RN and Certified Dialysis Tech to patient).
• Operate dialysis equipment including Fresenius machines and Gambro machines as needed; training provided for those unfamiliar with either system.
• Provide care across multiple campus locations and units, including taking call on designated off-shift days.
• Float to other units and hospital campuses as required.
• Document patient care accurately and legibly using the facility EMR system (Meditech).

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid compact license (temporary licenses not accepted).
• NURSYS verification required.
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 recent year of dialysis-specific experience.
• Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Professional Nursing Certification in a relevant specialty.
• Prior experience with Fresenius or Gambro dialysis equipment.
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis and bedside dialysis procedures.
